Optimalisasi Model Discovery Learning untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar dan Minat Siswa pada Materi Catur Guru di Kelas V SD Negeri 002 Tondok Salu

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes and student interest in the Catur Guru material in learning Hindu Religious Education in class five of SD Negeri 002 Tondok Salu. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model in improving learning outcomes and student interest. This research is a Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles, with 5 students as subjects. The research instruments included learning outcomes test and learning interest questionnaire. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes from an average of 68.00 in the pre-cycle to 81.23 in cycle II, and an increase in learning interest from a score of 59.3 to 84.1. The findings show that the Discovery Learning model is effective in creating active and meaningful learning, even on value-based materials such as the Guru Chess. An important contribution of this research is the application of discovery-based learning models in the context of Hindu Religious Education which is still minimally studied. The results of this study are important to be used as a reference in the development of more contextual and participatory religious learning methods.
