Abstract

Hindu religious learning at the secondary education level often only emphasizes theoretical aspects without providing space for students to experience and understand religious practices directly. In fact, ceremonies such as banten daksina not only function as a means of offering, but also as a medium for forming spiritual, ethical, and aesthetic values in Hindu education. This article aims to analyze the effectiveness of the practice and assistance in making banten daksina in improving the understanding and religious skills of class X students of SMAN 2 Sorong. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design through pretest and posttest without a control group, involving 13 Hindu students as research subjects. The research hypothesis states that there is a significant difference in religious understanding and skills before and after the learning intervention. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant increase in students  understanding scores after assistance (p less than 0.05), accompanied by an increase in skills that can be seen from the results of observations of the practice of making ceremonies. This study makes an important contribution to the field of Hindu religious education by offering a pedagogical approach based on experience and local culture, which is relevant to be applied in areas with a minority Hindu population. This finding confirms that direct involvement of students in religious practices can strengthen the integration between spiritual values and 21st century competencies. Therefore, the implementation of the ceremony-based learning model needs to be developed more widely in local wisdom-based religious education.
