Abstract

Student learning motivation is one of the key success factors in the learning process of Hindu Religious Education, especially in the Catur Guru material which requires active involvement and meaning of values. However, based on observations and initial questionnaire results at SD Negeri 113 Mambotu, it was found that the level of learning motivation of grade VI students was still low, with only 32 percent of students showing interest in the material. This study aims to increase students  learning motivation through the application of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model. The research method used was a pseudo-experiment with a pretest-posttest one group design on nine students as research subjects. The hypothesis of this study is that the application of the TPS model can significantly increase students  learning motivation. The results of data analysis showed an increase in the average learning motivation score from 58.78 in the pretest to 79.11 in the posttest, with the paired sample t-test results obtaining a significance value of 0.000 (less than 0.05), so the hypothesis was accepted. This finding confirms that the TPS learning model is effective in increasing learning motivation in value-based learning, especially the teachings of the Guru Chess. The main contribution of this study is to expand the implementation of TPS not only in exact subjects, but also in Hinduism-based character education at the elementary school level. The results of this study are important to be used as a reference in the development of strategies to improve learning motivation.
