The low interest in learning of students towards learning Hindu Religious Education can be caused by several factors, including the learning model, the learning methods used by teachers do not respond to the creativity of students in the learning process. This study aims to increase students' learning motivation. The method used is descriptive qualitative research method involving data from observations, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that (1) The application of the lecture plus discussion learning method is applied by using the lecture method first to explain the material presented, then the teacher invites the students to have group discussions regarding the material presented. (2) The obstacles faced by teachers are the lack of teaching materials, facilities and infrastructure, and students who like to disturb their friends. The solution to these problems is to make learning materials from manila paper, get facilities and infrastructure such as tables and chairs, ask questions to students who disturb their friends. Constraints faced by students such as the emergence of a sense of laziness and lack of confidence in students about their abilities. The solution to these student obstacles is to motivate themselves and convince themselves to always be able and able to achieve the goals expected by the students themselves. (3) Implications for increasing the teaching competence of teachers which can affect learning motivation. The application of the lecture learning method plus an effective and fun discussion can be a positive stimulus for students who lack motivation to learn. The advice given to Hindu religion teachers at SMP Negeri 7 Mataram is to better master the material that will be delivered to students and motivate students to continue learning.
