Transformasi Media Sosial Sebagai Sarana Komunikasi, Informasi Dan Edukasi Dalam Mitigasi Bencana Di Lombok Nusa Tenggara Barat

This study aims to analyze the use of social media, particularly Instagram, as a means of communication, information, and education in disaster mitigation by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Nusa Tenggara Province. With a descriptive qualitative approach and phenomenological method, this study examines how the content published through the Instagram account @bpbdntb can enhance public awareness and preparedness for potential disasters. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants at BPBD NTB and documentation of content from Instagram during the period from March 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024. The research results indicate that BPBD NTB actively uses Instagram to convey information related to early warnings, disaster education, and activity documentation, although there are still challenges in terms of human resources and supporting facilities for content production. These findings underscore the importance of optimizing social media as a disaster communication strategy, as well as the need to strengthen internal capacity so that mitigation messages can be delivered more effectively and accurately.
