Abstract

This research is in the area of public communication discipline, particularly in the study of the effectiveness of socialisation of national financial education programmes. The focus of the research is to analyse the effectiveness of the socialisation of the Cinta Bangga Paham Rupiah (CBPR) Program implemented by Bank Indonesia in building public awareness and understanding of the importance of the rupiah as a legal tender and symbol of national identity. The purpose of this research is to identify the socialisation strategy used, evaluate its effectiveness, and analyse the obstacles and solutions in its implementation. The research used a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, field observations, and review of programme documentation. The findings show that CBPR socialisation is effective in increasing people's practical awareness in treating rupiah money correctly, but has not fully succeeded in building a deep understanding of macroeconomics, especially related to the role of rupiah in national economic stability. The main contribution of this research is to develop a socialisation approach model based on demographic segmentation and multimodal communication strategies that are adaptive to local characteristics. The results of this study confirm the importance of innovation in financial public education to strengthen national identity and the country's economic stability through increasing public literacy on the function and meaning of the rupiah currency.
